Dear Parents and Carers,

As we begin the school year with the safe return to school, I write to you with some thoughts around our journey moving forward into the Learning @ Home phase for you and your child. I am consciously aware of the pressures and stresses that these new arrangements have placed upon our parents and carers.

In an effort to support you and your child we have been provided access to the Department of Education Learning @ Home Platform. In coping with the Learning @ Home environment, it is really important that we are realistic about our expectations of our children and ourselves.

Whilst we do encourage you to attempt some learning on a daily basis, we don’t want to turn this into a nightmare for you and your child. Learning will look different for individual children and motivational levels will vary depending on the circumstances. Do what you can, when you can.

The most important piece of advice I can give to you as Acting Principal is at the end of all of this the health and well-being of you and your family is paramount. Every student across the nation is in the same predicament. We can catch up on learning. Your child’s mental health is more important.

Our staff are here to support you. We continue to keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers.

Rachel Kelly

Acting Principal
