Want to make an enrolment enquiry?

We welcome enquiries at any time. When you contact us we may ask a few standard questions (including your contact details) to help us with your child’s enrolment needs and with our future planning. An enquiry does not mean you have made any commitment to our school.

We keep your enquiry on file if you wish and we can contact you the year before your child is due to start school to advise you of our Open Days and enrolment activities.

Who can apply to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School? Is the school ‘zoned’?

We accept applications for enrolment from everyone. If there are more applicants than places available in your child’s year, then we must follow the criteria required under the Tasmanian Catholic Education Commission Policy.

When should you apply for enrolment at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School?

Enrolment applications are taken from two years before your child is due to start school until the end of April in the year before.  We recommend that you complete and return the application as early as possible in Term 1 of the year before your child is due to start school.

Orientation

Kindergarten Children

In Term Four, orientation sessions are planned for the incoming Kindergarten children. This helps them to become familiar with Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School while meeting and doing activities with their future classmates. Information regarding arrangements for the coming year is passed on by the teacher and the Principal during the orientation session.

Letters are sent out to families letting them know the dates and times for orientation activities. Information sessions are held at the beginning of each school year for all parents to gather important information about the year ahead.
